Volunteer Opportunities

Many RSVP volunteers have lived in their communities for a long time. Because the community has given them so much, they see serving to give something back. Studies show - seniors who volunteer live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.

Volunteer Station and Activities

Citizen Corps Council (Central Utah Regional) - Disaster Preparedness
Participate in neighborhood watch, CERT (Community Emergency Response Teams), be committee and board members, MRC (Medical Reserve Corps, and provide public education on safety 4-H Program Be a 4-H leader for youth, teach skills such as quilting, cooking etc.
American Legion, VFW, & Auxiliaries Be an advocate & assist veterans to obtain all rights, educate public, and recognize veterans

CAP (Child Abuse Prevention) Educate public, help with child abuse prevention
Care Centers Entertain, visit, read to, and help take care of residents
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocated) Be an advocate for children
Elementary Schools Mentor students with math, reading, and spelling Fairview Museum of History and Art Assist with the operation of the art museum, cultural resources programs, tours to the public and schools, and various other activities
Fremont Indian State Park & Museum Take students on tours, clean park, and help with special events

Head Starts and Preschools Help children with activities, cutting out papers, pasting, and be a role model for students Hospice and Hospitals Greet people, take students on tours, serve in the gift shop, help with fundraisers, entertain, read, and visit terminally ill Information Booths Assist visitors and tourists with information

LEPC (Local Emergency Planning Committee) Help with homeland security initiatives
New Horizons Help with the shelter activities, intake, and office
Paiute ATV Trail Serve as a trail guide, host, and keep trails clean
Public Library Help stack books, file, and check books in and out
Senior Centers Help with fundraisers, quilting, serve on boards and committees, and help with Senior Center activities SMP (Senior Medical Patrol) Educate individuals on how to prevent Medicare Fraud and Abuse
Six County Aging/Community Assistance Serve on boards and committees VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program Assist individuals and family with free tax preparation or financial education VA Van Transport Veterans to the VA Hospital
